Coursework brief.

The brief I have chosen to follow for my A2 media coursework is to create the first two pages of a local newspaper and  for two supporting pieces of work I will be doing a poster to match the theme of the newspaper and a radio advertisement. By completeing research and planning on local newspapers and radio stations I will get a idea of how I can plan, design and create the above projects. I will also research headlines, images and recent stories to get a idea on realistic newspapers, newspaper posters and Radio advertisements.

Review of AS media.

From my work last year I was happy with my finished product and the grade I received for it. However, there were a few areas which I could have improved to get a better or higher grade. These were research and planning and digital technology.
Research and planning.
I feel that in my work last year my research and planning let my grade down a little bit. I didn't spend as much time as I should have on my research as I wanted to work on my finished product straight away. I should have spent longer researching different magazines and double page spreads than actually focusing all my effort into my end product.
Digital technology.
The digital technology that I used didn’t work as well as I hoped. The camera I used made my pictures quite blurry and out of focus. I chose the pictures that were the clearest and used them for my magazine. Another thing that I struggled to use was Photoshop; this was because I had never used this programme before and found it very hard to pick up easily. I tried my hardest to come to terms with the software and asked for assistance when ever I was finding it hard to continue.
